1. Description of the Service

UpdateMeWhen.com lets you add web pages and RSS/Atom feeds ("Watched URLs") to a watch list. We periodically fetch the content of each Watched URL, compare it to the previous version we retrieved, and email you a digest when a change is detected, at the local hour you choose in your account settings.

We do not guarantee that every change will be detected, that checks will run at a precise interval, or that a Watched URL will always be reachable. Some sites block or rate-limit automated requests, which can prevent us from checking them.

2. Accounts

You must provide an accurate email address and verify it before your account is activated. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your password confidential and secure;
• All activity that occurs under your account;
• Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms or is used to abuse the Service.

3. Acceptable Use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

• Add Watched URLs you do not have the right to monitor, or use the Service to circumvent a website's access controls;
• Attempt to overwhelm, scrape at excessive volume, or disrupt any Watched URL or the Service itself;
• Use the Service to monitor content that is illegal, infringing, or that facilitates harm to others;
• Reverse engineer, resell, or use the Service to build a competing product without our written permission;
• Create multiple accounts to abuse free-tier limits or the referral program described below.

4. Plans, Free Tier & Pro

The free plan includes up to 3 Watched URLs. The Pro plan removes this limit for a one-time payment shown on our pricing page. Pro access does not expire and is tied to the account it was purchased for.

We may change pricing, features, or the free-tier limit at any time. Changes will not remove features you have already paid for.

5. Referral Offer

From time to time, including during the current limited-time promotion, we may offer a referring account and a successfully referred account a free Pro upgrade. A referral is counted once the referred account has been created and verified through a valid referral link.

We may limit the offer to one qualifying referral reward per account, change or end the promotion at any time, and reverse a reward obtained through fraudulent, duplicate, or self-referred accounts.

6. Refunds

If you're unhappy with a Pro purchase, contact us within 14 days of payment at contact@updatemewhen.com or via our contact form, and we'll consider your request in good faith.

7. Third-Party Content

Watched URLs, their content, and any sites they link to are operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or availability of that content — we only report that it appears to have changed.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, including that change detection will be accurate, timely, or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, UpdateMeWhen.com and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any decision you make based on a notification (or lack of one) from the Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which UpdateMeWhen.com is operated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
